We're About 9

Brian Gundersdorf, Katie Graybeal, and Pat Klink exploded on to the folk circuit in 2003 with an unequivocal buzz, a load of festival appearances, and a relentless arsenal of charm, energy and intelligence. With just two guitars, a bass and wonderfully harmonious voices, We're About 9 demonstrates a unique synergy that is rarely found in many other bands. You would think that would be enough, but they are also amazing songwriters. Whether it's a song about sitting around a campfire singing songs, one about a bottle of port wine or another about flying an airplane, the words just enter you with such emotion, coming out in some dazzling array of sparks that just light up the room.

Simultaneously playing and writing for a diverse, intelligent audience is what has given this trio a distinctive, edgy, fun, articulate, professional style. After taking a year off from house concert hosting, the folks at Church Korner are ecstatic to have We're About 9 back for their unprecedented fourth house concert in Brooklyn. We hope that you will be able to join us in the excitement in welcoming back these great performers.

Carey Farrell

Carey Farrell likes to sing. Sometimes, she sings her own songs, about kindergarten romance and grocery store girls and asparagus. Sometimes, she sings songs by other people, like Joni Mitchell and the Monkees and David Bowie. And sometimes, she just likes to sing about the wheels on the bus, and how they go round and round, round and round, all thru the town.

Carey likes to sing for big people, small people, and all the people in between. Carey lives happily in Chicago but she will sing anywhere she can. No, really, just about anywhere, as long as people will be nice to her and listen-coffeehouses, churches, farmer's markets, birthday parties, street corners, living rooms, festival campsites, you name it. Maybe you would like Carey to sing for you sometime. I bet she'd be happy to do it.

This is a concert that should not be missed! Come join us for a spectacular night of food, fun and fantastic music! You won't be disappointed!
